Comparison of Reduction Maneuvers for Radial Head Subluxation in Preschool Children

Unknown Not Applicable NCT05828641

Study Description

Radial head subluxation is common in preschool children and is treated with manual reduction. This randomized controlled study examines the success rates of two maneuvers, supination-flexion and hyperpronation, in treating the condition. Children between ages 0-6 with radial head subluxation will be included in the study. Primary outcome is first-attempt failure, and secondary outcomes include patient satisfaction, pain intensity, and treatment-related adverse events. Sample size of 117 patients in each group were calculated. Statistical analysis will use SPSS 26. Understanding which maneuver is more successful is important for clinicians to effectively treat radial head subluxation in preschool children.
