Study Description

If you're suffering from shoulder pain due to arthritis, learn about a new treatment using CTM injections that could help alleviate your discomfort. Image-guided CTM injections use a substance derived from human placental connective tissue to support and mend damaged tissue in the shoulder. This treatment is especially aimed at those with osteoarthritis in the glenohumeral joint, which is where your upper arm connects to your shoulder blade. With precise image guidance, the injection is delivered directly to the affected area, potentially offering better accuracy and effectiveness than injections without imaging. Over the course of a year, researchers will track the pain levels and shoulder function of patients using common scales to judge the treatment's success. They'll also look into whether patient-specific factors may influence how long the benefits last. This study does not involve any cell-based therapies to create new cartilage; rather, it provides support to encourage your body's own healing process. Notably, this method has shown promise in other types of surgery involving different joints and tissues.
